Putting in an overhead DVD Player in a Ford Explorer does not require any extra wiring as a result of the player attaches to the dome mild connections. The method will be completed inside an hour.
Ford Explorer Overhead Console DVD Player Installation Instructions
1. Match the pinnacle of small flat screwdriver below the bottom of the dome light and move it around to create space between the dome mild and the ceiling. Take away the dome mild, unplug the wire harness and push the wires again up into the ceiling.
2. Place the DVD mounting bracket flush with the ceiling. Use a carpenter’s knife to chop the top liner across the bracket. Pull the bracket down from the ceiling and take away the minimize portion of headliner. The headliner prevents the bracket from sitting flush towards the ceiling, thus inflicting vibrations in the DVD Player whereas the car is moving. Removing the headliner reduces these vibrations.
3. Insert the wire harness via the slots in the bracket. Position the bracket flush in opposition to the ceiling where the headliner was removed. Use a drill with a machine tap drill bit to drill a hole by each of the bracket’s corners.
4. Insert the mounting screws, included with the DVD mounting equipment, into the drilled holes, and tighten with a Phillips screwdriver. The holes created by the machine tap drill bit creates threaded holes that are usable with screws. Plug the wire harness into the back of the DVD player. Slide the DVD player onto the bracket until it clicks into place.
